The Organization SPARK (Society for Participatory Action Research and Knowledge) has its root during the study of P.G. Diploma course, few young professionals were with the desire to establish an organization to work for the noble cause of village people. After completion of the course the group has been placed at different location in India to serve the village people. And there is only slow progress but a continuous effort of the founder members it is possible to give it a legal shape during 1998. Apart from young professional there are few social activists who have contributed to make it a reality.

Most of the member are from rural background and are aware about village problems. There are number of problems at village level like women issues like violence against women, livelihood, water, food, health, education, employment, agriculture environment and with the objective to over come all these problems SPARK was registered under Indian Trust Act. 1882 during the year 1998. At the beginning it is decided to work in Lohardaga and Ranchi districts which are the most backward districts of the state and comprising mainly schedule tribe schedule Caste backward and minority class people.
